How automakers are learning to combat the small thingsSelf driving cars used to be a thing of the future, still far off and unattainable. However, that technology has accelerated in the last decade and self driving cars are no longer something to be dreamt about. Automakers are moving towards trying to get automated cars on the road but have come across a few road blocks that were unanticipated. Car sickness is an issue that they may have overlooked initially but are now trying to figure out ways to help combat the issue. Recent allegations against all three of Tesla’s electric vehicles have caused the U.S. government’s auto safety agency to take a more in-depth look at the automakers cars. The allegations state that the electric vehicles can accelerate suddenly on their own. This can cause hazardous road conditions for the drivers and other cars on the road. About 500,000 cars will be affected by the investigation. For information on car maintenance, check out Chicago Autohaus.

from https://chicagoautohaus.com/automotive-news-update/ The new law takes effect in JanuaryAt the start of the new year, Illinois will begin taxing vehicle trade-ins that are worth more than $10,000. Currently, the state does not collect any sales tax on trade-in deals. Buyers currently get a tax credit for their old car’s value, and are only taxed on the differences in monetary value between their trade-in car and the new car. Some dealers are worried that this could cause people to hold on to their cars longer to avoid the tax. The city of Chicago’s winter parking ban went into effect last week and around 248 cars were towed in the first night alone. A recent study shows that many of the towed vehicles never make it back to their owners. Some people are unable to afford the towing and storage fees, so their cars were sold by the city. Since 2009, around 1,200 vehicles were sold that were towed during the parking ban. For information on vehicles and maintenance, pay a visit to Chicago Autohaus.

The plan, that of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, increases the city’s taxes on single-passenger trips and will lower the tax on shared rides. It will also have new surcharges placed on weekday rides downtown to help raise $40 million for the new year.
